Below I'm going to show you how to get started with Clickbank and understand a bit more about the interface so you can get the most out of your efforts.

Just don't be fooled. I don't care what anyone tells you or how inspired you may be by someone's earnings, making easy money online takes time, effort and lots of patience. This is not something you can do in a few weeks.

How to Join ClickBank and Make Easy Money:

Joining is easy and it's free. Just click the Sign-Up link from the top of the Clickbank homepage. Once your account has been created, you can begin promoting the products on your website.

Searching For Products to Promote:

To search for products, click the Marketplace link at the top of the ClickBank homepage.

Clickbank marketplace:

From here, you can search for products by either category or the search feature.

So for example if you search for "stocks", this is one of the products that appears in the results...

To view the sales page of the product, just click the red title.

This particular product pays $11.78 per sale on average. Now, it's important to note that the amount you earn per sale may not match that number exactly due to upsells, sales tax, chargebacks, etc. However, this will give you an idea of what you can earn.

Check out the Stats information at the bottom of the result. This provides more details about what you can earn.

Notice the Initial $/sale stat is much lower than the average $/sale. This particular vendor offers several products, which is why the initial sale stat and average sale prices differ.

Average %/sale means the average commission for this product is 45% per sale.

The Avg Rebill Total of $8.09, indicates this is a recurring billing product and that's the average amount the affiliate earns. So not only can you earn for one sale, but you will also earn for any customer re-bills. This is how your income can really add up over time.

Obtaining Your Affiliate Link :

Once you decide on a product you want to promote, click the green Promote button alongside the listing. You will be presented with this form.

Clickbank promote:

In the Account Nickname box, enter the ClickBank ID you created when you setup your ClickBank account, and add a Tracking ID if you want to keep track of where the sale is coming from.

For example, if you are promoting a specific product in a newsletter, you could use newsOct2013. ClickBank will add this ID to your affiliate URL so you can track how many sales came from this specific link.

So now when you go to the Reporting section at the top of the page, you can view your sales by Tracking ID to see how effective your campaign was.

After you've entered your account nickname and optional tracking ID, click Create and Clickbank will give you the link to promote on your website.

Best Ways to Promote ClickBank

Niche Websites/Blogs

There's no doubt that a niche website is the best way to promote Clickbank products because you will know more about your audience and you targeted traffic converts much better.

Then explain how the product has worked for you and why you readers would love it.

As I teach in my affiliate marketing course, when you can show that you actually use the product, it adds to your credibility and will increase your conversion rate.

Email

Email marketing is also an effective way of promoting products. Be careful, though. You don't want to continually pitch products to your subscribers. That's not a good strategy.

Just like with your website, you should aim to provide nothing but quality, and promote products on occasion.

Use your list to inform your audience of important site updates, special news and provide exclusive offers. Weave in relevant product links every so often.

Social Media

If you have a large following (especially if it's very niche), you can also make easy money promoting products via social media.

Just remember, you can turn your followers way off by being overly aggressive with affiliate links. However, a casual, relevant mention here and there is fine.

And you don't even need a website to promote Clickbank products. You can just promote the hoplink I showed you how to create above.

However, I've always found it to be more effective to mention products within articles rather than just promoting affiliate links by themselves.

So instead of just tweeting a link to a product you are promoting, tweet a link that provides a relevant how-to article that includes a link to the product in the copy. That's a much better strategy.

What About Article Marketing?

ClickBank recommends article marketing on their tips page, but I honestly don't think this is a very effective way of marketing today.

Not only has it lost much of its SEO value, but most people who go to article marketing sites are not looking for information, they're marketers looking to get traffic to their own articles.

I'm not saying there is absolutely no value in article marketing, because there may be some -- especially with very tight/defined niches. However, I believe it is an expiring marketing strategy.

Using Banners to Promote The Products

If the product you are promoting has banners you can use, there is usually a link to the affiliate program located at the bottom of the main sales page. This is where you can often find banners for your website.

For example, for my ebook, Niche Website Success, there is a link to the affiliate page at the bottom of the landing page. That's where I provide the code for affiliates to add banners/links into their sites.

I personally haven't had as much success with banners as I have with contextual links. Banners seem too promotional to people. I find that casually mentioning a product via a link in an article is much more effective.

Don't Promote Crap!

Because ClickBank has no screening process for the products people can sell, you can run into a lot of low-quality products that were thrown together.

It may be tempting to focus on the amount you will earn per sale, but don't put greed over quality because it will hurt your reputation.

I only promote products that I have personally purchased myself. While the commission amount is something I pay attention to, the actual quality of the product comes first.

Selling Your Own Digital Goods on ClickBank

Clickbank makes it incredibly easy to sell your own products. So if you've been thinking of creating an ebook, for example, you can use Clickbank as the vendor.

All you do is upload your product to your website, create your sales page and sign up to be a vendor. The cost is a one-time fee of $49 and they take 7% of every sale you make.

You can set your price and choose what percentage you want to offer for your affiliates. Once your product is live in the Clickbank marketplace, your affiliate links are automatically created for you.

eJunkie is another egoods marketplace that you also may want to consider. I believe Clickbank has the better overall affiliate system, but eJunkie lets you create discount codes and does not take any easy money per sale. However, they do charge $5/month. So eJunkie and Clickbank both have their pluses and minuses.

If you're a WordPress user, there are some pretty cool plugins out there to help you create stylish landing pages to sell your product.

Optimize Press is a quite popular, and it was specifically designed to create sales pages and increase conversions. I've never used this plugin, but plan on trying it out for future projects.

Clickbank is Not a Scam

I've heard people say that Clickbank is a scam because they don't ever make any money, but here's the deal. No matter what program you join, it takes work to convert your traffic into sales.

I have been an affiliate for Clickbank since 2000 and have never had any problems getting paid. They pay every month like clockwork and it goes directly into my checking account.

Clickbank is Not a 9 to 5 Gig:

The biggest misconception about making easy money with a website is you can estimate your earnings based on hours invested.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. How well you do directly depends on how much targeted traffic you have (people who are searching or interested in your topic). And that could take weeks or months depending on how efficient you are.

You could put 30 hours into your site marketing it on Twitter, but if you don't learn how to use social media effectively, those 30 hours could be a total waste.

So it's not about estimating how much you can earn based on hours spent. Understand this is a business and it's about working smart, not necessarily the amount of hours you put into it.

Everyone's results will vary so don't get caught up in how long this will take. It's impossible to estimate that.

It's NOT about the program because you could make a killing with anyprogram. What matters is if the program is relevant to your site or not.

Before I get into things let me show you proof of my earnings from my Fiverr account which is less than 40 days old.
As you can see it shows a total of $1,644 earned but has since gone on to earn nearly $2,000. I did all of this using a piece of software I bought for just $67.

Revealing My Fiverr Gig:

So how did I manage to make that much money on Fiverr? Well first of all I spent time looking at what other people are having success with.

At the same time I spotted an awesome product that helped me create animated videos really quickly.



So the idea for my gig was born – I’m going to create a video animation service offering things like whiteboard videos, 3D animation videos, hand drawn videos etc.



There is no big secret here – I just looked at what other people sold and what I could make quickly and created some relevant gigs.

You could say that preparation met opportunity perfectly!

Revealing The Step By Step Process

So now I’ve shown you what I do and what I use to do it, now all you need to know is how to do it yourself

Just follow the steps below-

Step 1 – Practice

First of all I bought Video Maker FX and spent time practising making videos of all different types with it.

It took me a couple of weeks of playing but I soon got the hang of being able to make videos quickly.

Step 2 – Create Fiverr Gig

Once I knew I could produce awesome videos I created my Fiverr Gig.

I kept the title short and simple – “I will Create a Professional Whiteboard Animation Video In 24 hours for $5.”

Here are some other titles I have used that did well

• I will create an AMAZING Whiteboard Animation Video For $5
• I will create a PROFESSIONAL Whiteboard Doodle Video For $5
• I will create an Eye CATCHY Animation Video For $5

Feel free to play around – you get the idea!

Step 3 – Creating Your Gig Image:

If you do a search for similar gigs you will notice some of them have better images than others that really stand out.

Do some searches and take some inspiration from the gig images that really stand out to you.

Once you have done that you can use PicFont.com to create your Fiverr gig image, if you really want to stand out you can also hire someone on Fiverr to do it!

Step 4 – Writing Your Gigs Description

Your description is also a very important part to your gig that you need to get right.

Just like with the images I also search around Fiverr and look at what the other top sellers are doing and use their descriptions as inspiration.

Whatever you do, don’t copy their descriptions or your will get banned. Just use them as inspiration and come up with your own unique description.

Step 5 – Tags/Keywords

One of the most important parts of your gig is setting up the tags and keywords.

A lot of people don’t realize this but having your gig tagged correctly is very important to the ranking of your gig in Fiverrs search results.



Take a look at the picture above and you will see the tags I used and also set your gig delivery duration to “1 DAY”.
Step 6 – Video-fying Your Gig

You also have the option of adding a video to your gig to make it stand out. Again this helps to boost rankings and sales so pay attention.

I just used Video Maker FX to make a catchy video for my gig, it doesn’t need to be anything special but shows off the service as well.
The Secret Sauce – Ranking Your Fiverr Gigs

Once you have everything setup and your Fiverr gig is live you need to apply the secret sauce to get the gig ranking and sales flowing in.

This has been my secret for about 6 months that I have only shared with a few of my friends. I can rank any gig #1 for any keyword on Fiverr in less than 48 hours for any search term like “video animation”, “usa traffic” and so on.

Special Trick From Me:

NOTE: You must have completed the previous steps for this to work.
Step 1 – Dummy Account

Create a dummy Fiverr Account and buy your gig twice. Then give your gig a nice positive review (You will only loose $2 when you do this).
Step 2 – Fake Visitors

Now just sends at least 250 fake hits/visitors to your Fiverr gig. This will boost your gigs impressions and make it more visible to cash at hand buyers.



If you don’t know how to get fake visitors, well you can just buy them from Fiverr but don’t go overboard with them.
Step 3 – Accurate Tags

Make sure you use accurate tags for your gigs and also include the keywords you want to rank for in the title and description.

If you are going to do a gig like the one I’ve shown you above you would use tags like-

And I came away with some smart tips from the experts that can help prospective and current bloggers interested in making money from full-time or part-time work.

I went to BlogHer out of both a personal and a professional interest. I blog at Next Avenue and on my own site, MyLifestylecareer.com, which is about profiting from your passions in semi-retirement.

Famous BlogHer: 

This year’s BlogHer event, held in New York City, featured successful bloggers including celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow (founder of the popular Goop.com), workshops on branding, social media and monetization and a whole lot of networking. BlogHer puts on one heck of a show and if you’re serious about learning more about blogging, I highly recommend you check out some of its upcoming conferences.

But now back to my initial question: Can you earn a living as a blogger?

Well, maybe.

But first, the bad news. According to the 2015 Women’s Blogging Industry and Business Annual Report — a survey of thousands of bloggers by iBlog magazine — very few bloggers earn much. In fact:

• The Only 11% of respondents earned more than $30,000
• The 68% earned less than $5,000
• And The 57% made less than $2,500

That said, some bloggers earn six-figure incomes and 6% of respondents indicated they make over $60,000 annually.

Full-Time Verses Part-Time Blogging:

And I should point out that most of the respondents to this survey aren’t blogging full-time: 42% work full-time or part-time in a non-blogging job; 30% are stay-at-home parents and 18% own a non-blogging business.

Gwyneth Paltrow, however, is an outlier. She told BlogHer that she works on Goop “my whole day,” adding that “it’s an actual real job.” Goop gets more than 3.75 million page views a month, has nearly 1 million newsletter subscribers and has a 25-person team, according to the cover story in the latest issue of Fast Company.

But only 25% of the iBlog survey respondents said their prime motivation for having a blog was to earn a full-time income. Most blog because they’re passionate about a topic and want to earn some extra money in the process.

After analyzing the report, my main takeaway is this: blogging is a business like any other.

Despite the lure of an easy lifestyle (and claims of unscrupulous Internet marketers), you can’t expect to just start a blog, post a few ads and watch the money roll in.

Blogger Hobby to Pro Blogger:

If you really want to go from hobby blogger to pro, you must be willing to work hard, invest in training and stick it out for the long haul — expect to wait a year or more before you can attract enough traffic to monetize your blog.

How much you’ll ultimately earn and how quickly you’ll turn a profit will depend on the quality of your content, your market niche, how often you blog and, most importantly, how effective you are at promoting and monetizing your site.

There’s one more important consideration to factor into the profitability equation: Even if you don’t earn anything from advertising or sponsorship revenues on your blog, you might earn a very good income because of your blog.

Here’s why: You can use your blog as a platform to build your brand, which in turn leads to a greater likelihood of people buying your products and services. Successful bloggers, I heard, often monetize their blogs by attracting consulting and speaking gigs, sales of digital products, freelance work, book deals and even job offers.

So yes, it’s possible, to earn a living as a blogger for the patient and industrious.
That leads me to my second question: What’s the best way to get started?

5 Tips For Profitable Blogging:

While there really is no one best way, here are five helpful tips about launching a blog and earning money from one that I took away from the conference:

1. Blog on a topic you are passionate about. I know that sounds painfully obvious. But multiple speakers emphasized the importance of choosing a topic you can see yourself writing about day after day, for years to come.

Most bloggers post at least several times a week and many post every day to continually build traffic. How often you’ll blog is up to you. “Do what feels right, what comes naturally,” said David Leite, creator of the cooking blog, LeitesCulinaria.com. “Start with your passion.”

Another panelist, Kat Kinsman, founder of TastingTable.com, emphasized the importance of having an authentic voice to distinguish your blog from the competition. She asked, “What is the story that only you can tell?”

2. Target underserved, but profitable, niches. One of the best ways to stand out from the masses and monetize a blog is to write about something people are interested in, but that other media outlets generally ignore.

For example, Erica Tannen, a former retail executive and founder of The-e-list.com, describes her site as “an excruciatingly opinionated guide to the Connecticut shoreline and best Connecticut shopping.” The hyper-local blog, which now has over 16,000 free e-newsletter subscribers (the money comes from ad revenues) and 74,000 monthly page views, includes reviews of restaurants, shops and tourist attractions, as well as notifications about sales and events.

“It took me a few years to make any money at all, but it’s been great the last two,” Tannen said, adding that her blog now grosses “above six-figures.”

Says Tannen: “My ads completely sell out because I have such a targeted audience: women over 35 with annual incomes over 150K.”

She works full-time and currently has three part-time mom employees (each working about 20 hours a week) plus two interns. “I, of course, love it,” she said, “but am slightly exhausted by the frenetic pace and weekly deadline and am hoping to sell the thing in a year or so!”

3. Hone your photography and social media skills. In the past few years, blogging has become an increasingly visual medium. Consequently, visual social platforms like Pinterest, Instagram and Vine are driving traffic to blogs. As a result, bloggers need to learn and develop strong photography, image editing and social media skills.

For assistance learning these skills, you might want to try sites such as Lynda.com, where you’ll find video tutorials on a wide range of topics including photo editing and video production. Membership starts at $25 a month; in some communities, you can access Lynda.com for free through your local library.

Alternatively, many community colleges and continuing education programs offer classes in social media and photography.

4. Get connected to other bloggers. Although blogging can feel isolating, it doesn’t have to be. In fact, the number of bloggers who clearly knew one another at this event surprised me. So look for ways to create informal virtual alliances with other bloggers with whom you can share content, cross-promote and offer support.

This can prove financially beneficial for all involved, and is a nice way to combat the loneliness of the home-based blogger.

5. Invest in up-to-date training. The blogging landscape is continually evolving. When I attended BlogHer three years ago, sites like Pinterest and Instagram were just getting rolling. At this year’s event, there were multiple sessions devoted to learning about many types of social media sites.

Like any profession, and blogging is a profession, it’s critical to invest in professional training to keep your skills sharp and current as well as to learn about the latest options for monetization.
